Okay, with the website design stuff taking place, this podcast was actually recorded on January 19, 2010, so a little over a week ago as I’m getting ready to post it. So, sure, we talk a little bit about the Golden Globe awards that were over a week ago, and I make a reference to the “Pants on the Ground” man that we have all forgotten, and if this podcast were timely Stu would be making some crack about the new Apple tablet computer being called the iPad, where if you tricked it out it would be called the MaxiPad. But there is some time-non-discript talk, so get ready for Stu’s verbal take on the re-make of the movie “Fame” (the written review will be posted in a few days), we find out why Stu missed the normal podcast day last week, we find out that Kansas City can be fun, and no you don’t have to eat crayons to have fun there.

Stu also celebrated an anniversary, I have a new ringtone for Stu thanks to the Geico commercial, and this podcast will have to do until next week when we find out where Stu has been, again, and what I did this weekend.

Thanks for listening!

Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

The Dude on the Right was a half-fan of “Family Guy,” a full-fan of “Star Wars,” so he expected to be a 3/4 fan of “Family Guy: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side.” Oddly enough he became a 5 Star fan of the Blu-ray, and during is review he does his best to explain why.  Okay, he doesn’t really explain too much, but he loved the extended episode, is becoming a “Family Guy” convert, and thinks “Family Guy” fans will love the “Fact-Up” Special Feature.

10 Things I Hate About You

Hard to believe it’s been 10 years since “10 Things I Hate About You” came out, and also helped launch the career of Heath Ledger, but The Dude on the Right reviews the 10th Year Blu-ray Anniversary edition, and thinks the movie still holds up well. Sure, you get the standard story about teen in high school, but a lot of the story still rings true, and it is a great look back at some of the early works of Julia Stiles and Heath. The Blu-ray really needs more extras, but hey, you’re just getting this one for the story and to see Heath Ledger when he was young and studly.

American Idol is Coming, Up In the Air is Good, Jay Leno is Moving, and 3-D TV Will Survive.

Another Stu & The Dude’s "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast has come, and the boys talk about porn.  Well, they sort of talk about porn, namely a sexbot and 3-D-ness, and if anything else at the CES show last week will be a staple of tomorrow because of sex.  There is talk of a new computer, about computer server issues, about beer, about movies bad and good for kids, i.e., The Pink Panther 1 & 2, about movies for adults, i.e., Up In The Air, about TV catching up with "Chuck," and the return of "American Idol."  The dudes don’t talk about Jay Leno that much, what with him losing his show and all, but hey, it’s topical, and Stu’s not really a fan, so why not, there is some Jay Leno talk as well.  So much, so little time, yet Stu and The Dude figure a way to squeeze it into a 20-minute podcast.

I was really worried that computer server woes would stop me from posting our "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast, but thankfully things have been fixed just in time for Stu Gotz’s and my weekly chat,, especially with "American Idol" starting tomorrow.  Stu and I do a little dissecting of "American Idol," what with Paula Abdul gone, Simon Cowell leaving, Ellen DeGeneres onboard, and the auditions in Boston coming up, but, as we sometimes do, we quickly shift topics, and hide the children but it’s also time for the Adult Video News Awards in Las Vegas where we find out what technology that was at the CES show last week will be supported by the porn industry.

As the podcast continues with some adultness, I let Stu know if "Up In The Air," the George Clooney movie, is any good, Stu is catching up on "Chuck" so hopefully next week we will be on the same page, and in terms of kid-ness, Stu was shocked that "Pink Panther 1" is actually worse than "Pink Panther 2."

Stu’s sister got a new computer and doesn’t know what a web browser is, Jay Leno is doing something, and Stu is going to beer school.  All of that, and more, as 2010 continues!

Jennifer’s Body

Megan Fox’s body, umm, rather "Jennifer’s Body," is a movie that The Dude on the Right reviews and doesn’t think is all that great. He did like the girl-on-girl kissing, he did like a quote about cutting off a nutsack, and he did think Megan Fox was rather pretty, but in the horror realm, or in the realm of girls being mean to each other because of boys, well, "Jennifer’s Body" kind of floats along the sameness of some better movies. Then again, the Blu-ray does have an extra simple called "Megan Fox is HOT," so maybe The Dude has a screw loose.

Glassware, Bad Luck, Dr. Who, and a Sugartoad.

Illinois Institute of Technology Bog GlassThe Dude on The Right & Stu Gotz both survived their respective New Year’s Eve celebrations, so they’ve made it back for the first "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast of 2010. In it they don’t talk too much about the new year, but mostly about how Stu Gotz is in the doghouse with a Little Gotz, how The Dude’s BFF needs some parking lines in the garage, and if "Pink Panther 2" is any good. Stu is sucked back into "Dr. Who" even thought the series is done for the year, The Dude still loves dinner at Sugartoad, Stu broke a mirror – sort of, and The Dude was still in the gift-giving mood, presenting Stu with some momentos of their youth at Illinois Institute of Technology. They talk about "Jersey Shore," "The Squeeze," and "Bridezillas" from their TV screens, they talk a bit about "Avatar" on the movie screen, and they talk about college. It’s a new year, they have a lot to talk about, and somehow they pull it off in under 20 minutes…

IIT Bog GlassIt’s the New Year, and both Stu Gotz and I survived so we are back for 2010 with our first "Weekend Wrap-Up!" podcast of the, well, new year. Neither of us revisited our crazy days and ended up puking drunk on the street, but instead I spent some time at Sugartoad restaurant with my BFF and some friends while Stu kept things calm in his own world. But it was a long weekend, so we both did plenty, and also did a lot of nothing. Stu, well, he spent some quality time with the Little Gotz’s watching "Pink Panther 2" that he got thanks to his local RedBox, while I spent some extra quality time with my future in-laws. We talk about Dr. Who and some dudes named David Tennant and Matt Smith, Stu is worried he will have seven years of bad luck, and he also tells me if I should be watching "Jersey Shore" and "The Squeeze" while I don’t tell Stu if he should be watching "Bridezillas."

Stu needs to make things up to one of his sons who had a nice idea for a Christmas gift, I’m going to be painting parking lines in my garage, Stu wanted to talk about the new Google Android phone but doesn’t, and I give Stu a gift even though Christmas is over. It’s a new year and we’re back for the ride.

Sherlcock Holmes

For this movie review of "Sherlock Holmes," The Dude on the Right generally liked the movie, but really felt that if it weren’t for the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams, well, then Guy Ritchie could have had a big turd on his hand. Anyway, the chemistry between all of the actors was great for The Dude, and he didn’t even get that distracted by some of the CGI effects. Instead he just sat back, relaxed with his BFF in the theater, and enjoyed the show. He suggests you might be able to do the same, just leave the kids at home with the sitter.

A Roomba Review, A Sherlock Holmes Reviews, Christmas is Gone, and a Batch of WTF’s.

This is more of a "Christmas Weekend Wrap-Up" podcast rather than just a "Weekend Wrap-Up," so The Dude on the Right and Stu Gotz discuss the various gifts they received, how the little Gotz’s got a few too many gifts, and Stu gives his review of the Roomba.  Both of the boys saw "Sherlock Holmes" and they give their take on the film, The Dude on the Right tells Stu if he should rent "Julie & Julia" to watch with Mama Gotz, and they both think "Kelly’s Heroes" is a kick-ass movie.  There is talk about the airplane bomber dude, about AT&T sucking by not selling iPhones to people in New York City (although they seem to be selling them again), about someone who should know what an iPod is but doesn’t, and about ungrateful family members.  With the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football playing the Minnesota Vikings and Brett Favre, the boys don’t talk about football for this podcast, but then again, with the Bears sucking so bad, who cares?
