Congrats Emmitt, Poor Karina, Zubrowka and the FDA, and A Challenge.

By:

The Dude on the Right

I was very happy to see Emmitt Smith win this season’s "Dancing with the Stars"
competition, but was shocked at the look on Karina’s face as she realized she
(and Mario) didn’t win.  She looked scorn, almost with the attitude of "We
should be the fucking winners, not those two," but the only thing she had going
for her was Mario pronouncing her name with a Spanish flair.  And what was
with Mario’s pronouncing of her name, because she was of Russian descent, not
Spanish, yet Mario kept giving her name a Spanish tinge.  Either that or I
don’t know my Russian.  And does she really think she has a chance at being
Mario’s long-term love interest?  Maybe he has changed, but I hope she
knows how to use Google!

I also wonder about the FDA and vodka (specifically
Zubrowka, a.k.a. Bison Grass Vodka), and also wonder if either my sister or
niece will want to do a podcast when I visit the old country for Turkey-Day.
I suppose we’ll see next week!

Thanks always for visiting, and thanks for listening.

Emmitt Smith, You Can’t Touch Him, and I Re-Found Zebrahead.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Much like I can figure most people watching the "Dancing
with the Stars
" finale, you’ve already got your favorite, and that favorite
can fall on their ass, drop their partner, or even stare at the camera and say
something like "This show is the dumbest-ass show I have ever been on."
Fine, the last one will definitely not happen, but we’ve all got our favorites,
and I’ll be voting for

Emmitt Smith
, or at least try to vote.

I am happy this season of "Dancing
with the Star" is almost over because I do need to free some time to catch up on
my TV viewing, and actually getting some real stuff done, but after last week, I
am suddenly rejuvenated and my multitasking abilities seem to back, better than
ever. (You see, as I type this, Emmitt just got a "perfect score").  And
with my TiVo, tomorrow’s result’s show should be a breeze since I don’t need to
see all of the filler stuff, just who wins.  And nothing against Mario, GO
EMMITT!!!!!!!!!!!

TV aside, as I work to get back into the concert and music
thing, sometimes I have to thank my Sirius Satellite Radio because today I
re-found a band I really liked, one I sort of fell out of touch with except when
some of their songs popped up on my iPod during my exercising, and that band is
Zebrahead
I found them during their "Playmate
of the Year
" days, but on the road today, I heard their latest single,
"Anthem," and I’m right back being a Zebrahead fan.  Music re-finds
yourself sometimes, in different places, because the only reason I heard them
today was due to a traffic accident (not mine, but I was stuck in the resulting
traffic).  I have to thank those who got in the accident, I just hope
nobody, well, was seriously hurt.

My Male PMS is Over (I Hope.) Now I Have TV to Watch.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Thank God "Lost" is going on hiatus because I have too much TV to watch, and too
much I need to catch up.  Hell, I’m trying to catch up on last week’s
"Heroes" as I type this, want to watch the "60 Minutes" special about Ed Bradley
which is recording now, the Chicago Bears’ game is starting in about an hour,
and now that the NBC folks say they aren’t going to cancel "Studio 60 on the
Sunset Strip" I suppose I should try to catch up with last week’s episode, and
I’m not even going into my still needing to catch last week’s "Survivor,"
"Battlestar Gallactica" or the meerkat show.

But next week things slow down
even more because it’s the finale of "Dancing with the Stars," pitting Mario
Lopez vs. Emmitt Smith, and I’m an Emmitt fan so I might actually vote this
week.

I think part of my backlog was having a crappy week, which I think
caused me to lose some of my concentration skills, and just as important, my
ability to multitask.  This weekend, though, I think I am starting to get
back in the groove. I got over my writer’s block and wrote my concert review of
seeing

"Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers,"
saw

"Stranger than Fiction"
and got that review written.  I was also able
to do some cleaning of the dude-pad while still watching Brett Favre and the
Packers beat the Minnesota Vikings.

Maybe it was male PMS, maybe it was the
Chicago Bears’ losing to the Miami Dolphins that got to me, but last week was a
challenge.  We all have those weeks.

I Amaze Myself Sometimes, Jerry is Gone, So is Ken, and This is The Worst Weekend of the Year.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Sometimes I actually amaze myself at the wealth of knowledge I have, and today I
fill you in as to how it enabled me to make a left-hand turn.  I was also a
little sad to see Jerry Springer get booted off of "Dancing With the Stars," but
only because it means not seeing his dance partner,

Kym
, who has a great smile and a pretty great body to boot.  "The
Biggest Loser" also kicked off one of my favorite members, and kept someone I
really don’t like.  Oh well, I guess you can’t have it all.

This weekend, though, is the crappiest weekend of the year for me, and it’s
not just because it’s right before Halloween.  Somehow I’ll try to struggle
through.

Dancing is Upsetting, Sweetest is Coming, and GWAR isn’t in Chicago on Halloween.

By:

The Dude on the Right

I’m getting a little perturbed with the folks at "Dancing
with the Stars
" for the way they duped us into thinking there would be
someone voted off last night. I’ve also been exercising and give you my first
podcast update, as well as keep you updated on
my MySpace page. I don’t
have a Sweetest for
Sweetest Day,
but you better not forget. What makes me even more sad is that
GWAR isn’t playing in Chicago
on Halloween.

“Dancing with the Stars,” “30 Rock,” Learning to Fly, and do I try to be a Loser in Public?

By:

The Dude on the Right

My television viewing is moving into high gear as I start to put names with the
faces of the folks on my favorite reality shows, with "Dancing with the Stars"
being the first to break into this realm.  Sadly, for both me and my mom,
Jerry Springer is still dancing.  I also discuss, a little, my thoughts on
"30 Rock," and even though it makes me sad to have heard about the plane crash
involving Cory Lidle in New York yesterday, I still would love to learn to fly a
plane.

But the biggest dilemma I am facing right now is do I make my next weight
loss try public.

City Hall Follies Turned into “Dancing with the Stars.”

By:

The Dude on the Right

I was going to do a blog about my dealings at City Hall today for a client, but
instead, I got wrapped up into replaying "Dancing
with the Stars
" and as the number of contestants is diminishing, I’m
starting to care a little more about who stays and who goes.  My synopsis
from last night:

  • Joey Lawrence:  I am now a huge fan of Joey’s.  That’s
right, I want Joey to stick around for a while.  Why?  Because his
dance partner, Edyta Sliwinska is hot and wears some of the greatest
outfits.  And she’s Polish.  I’m not sure how well Joey dances,
although they get high scores, but she moves very nicely and shows a lot of
    skin.
  • Willa Ford:  I know she is quickly becoming a fan of the
judges, but I’m not that taken in with her, although she does have nice gams.
  • Sara Evans:  I’ve been a stalker of Sara’s since the
beginning of her country singing days, and the only problem I have had with
her for some of these dances is her hair.  I’ve always been a fan of
the straight hair, but thought she lost some of her beauty with the curly
hair.  I think she dances fine, has a killer smile, but had the worst
    outfit last night.
  • Mario Lopez:  I’m sure you ladies find him dreamy, and the
judges seem to think he dances well, but I don’t find his partner nearly as
hot as Edyta, so he’s got to go!
  • Jerry Springer:  Sure, he’s the goofball of the competition,
and his partner, Kym Johnson is cute as hell, but I’m tired of him and his
constant touting that he’s really a swell guy, not the guy running "The
Jerry Springer Show."  He was kind of funny last night with his line
about getting the prison wardens to let his "audience" call in and vote for
him, but it’s time for him to go.
  • Monique:  She does nothing for me but is a great dancer.
She’s cuter than Mario Lopez, so I’m hoping she stays and he goes.
  • Emmitt Smith:  He’s smooth on his feet and seems to be
having a butt-load of fun, so I say keep him around a couple of more weeks.

We’ll see how the voting goes tonight, but if I’m getting rid of anyone
right now it’s Mario Lopez that has to go.  I’d say Jerry Springer, but
I think he’s got the hotter dancing partner.

I’ve got to finish this up so
I can catch the premiere of "30 Rock," find out who gets booted from
"Dancing with the Stars," and then decide whether I watch "The Biggest
Loser" or "Lost" tonight while things catch up on my TiVo.  Too much
TV, so little time.

Thanks to My Niece, I Love and Hate McDonald’s, I Have Some New Favorite TV, and Stu & The Dude at YouTube.

By:

The Dude on the Right

First off I just want to give a "Shout-Out" to my favorite niece and my favorite
nephew.  But podcast-wise, this one deals a lot with my struggles with the
new version of the "McDonald’s Monopoly" game.  I’m one sticker away from
some decent money, and two stickers away from being set for life.  I think
I need to catch up on my TV viewing of "The Biggest Loser" otherwise my weight
loss during October will be going totally the wrong direction.  DAMN YOU
MCDONALD’S!!!!!!!!

I’m also digging some new TV shows, namely "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip,"
"Heroes," and "The Class," and sometimes I don’t even know why.  And for
those of you who boycott Apple, we are now posting our "Stu
& The Dude Reviewin’ the Movies for You
" reviews on
YouTube, with
our review of "Jackass Number Two" coming soon.

What’s New? A Podcast of: “Ugly Betty,” Why is Jerry Springer Still Dancing, and Concerts in October.

For this podcast, The Dude on the Right already has too many shows to watch on Thursday so can’t understand why ABC put “Ugly Betty” against all of his other favorite shows. He also has his idea of why Jerry Springer is still dancing, and ponders setting up some October concerts.

“Ugly Betty,” Why is Jerry Springer Still Dancing, and Concerts in October.

By:

The Dude on the Right

Preparing for this podcast and making sure my extra TiVo was recording the
season premiere of "Smallville,"
there was one more show I sort of wanted to watch, oddly enough called "Ugly
Betty.
"  It is sort of "The
Devil Wears Prada
" meets some show famous in South America, or something
like that, only "Ugly Betty" isn’t Anne Hathaway.  I’ve already got too
much TV to watch and I can’t understand why ABC would but the show against "Survivor"
and "My Name is
Earl.
"  I also can’t understand why Jerry Springer is still "Dancing
With the Stars,
" and after seeing Roger Waters tomorrow, I’m trying to set
up my October concert calendar.

Thanks for listening.
