This seems like kind of a weird movie for Disney to take
on, especially with the story being about a high school girl
checking out colleges she wants to go to, but what the hell.
For the movie we get Melanie (Raven-Symone) as the high
school girl. Originally the plan was to visit the colleges
with her friends, but dad is a police dude (played by Martin
Lawrence), and the last thing a high school girl wants is
her overprotective dad around when she's trying to impress
the college dudes. And then, of course, hilarity is supposed
to ensue.
The trailer shows a movie really being marketed to the
tween girls, and I suppose even though the material is about
the end of high school, who can't relate to a movie about
not wanting your parents around, and then, of course,
realizing you really love them.
