The trailer nearly got more applause than the movie that followed
(and that movie was the acclaimed "A.I. Artificial
Intelligence" that I didn't really care for). This movie should
be a monster during the holiday season if the response to the Harry
Potter book series is any indication. Officially the movie is
described as: An adaptation of the first of J.K. Rowling's popular
children's novels about Harry Potter, a boy who learns on his
eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful
wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. He is
summoned from his life as an unwanted child to become a student at
Hogwarts, an English boarding school for wizards. There, he meets
several friends who become his closest allies and help him discover
the truth about his parents' mysterious deaths at the hands of a
powerful adversary.
I can't say that the movie will follow the book because, well,
I'm not much of a reader, but the trailer showed a fun, fantasy film
full of childish dreams and amazement. Harry begins to learn about
his powers and must also learn to control them, but he is also a boy
who looks to land in some mischief with his new-found friends. After
seeing the trailer I'm actually looking forward to this movie.
