Hmmm? A Sony Pictures Classic release pretty much means I
may not even get a chance to see this unless I want to take that drive
into the big city. Oh well.
Anyway, this is the story about a kid, Tim (Emile Hirsch) growing
up and dealing with his dysfunctional family (haven’t we all?). His
mom is Sandy, played by Sigourney Weaver. She has a little pot habit
that isn’t viewed well, especially by the police. Dad is Ben, played
by Jeff Daniels, and he is a Dad who realizes that his life has pretty
much gone to crap, and he is alright with that. Ahh, family.
And so, we get a look at family, divided yet growing together as
they learn things they really don’t want to know about each other.
This does look like a good movie, a funny look at a dysfunctional
family we can probably relate to in many ways, and if it ends up near
me, I’ll probably try to catch this one.
