Ah, parents working to get their kids into a beauty pageant. Why
does it always seem these families are somehow dysfunctional? Such
seems to be the case for this movie, “Little Miss Sunshine.”
For this one it looks like we are getting an artsy-type film
(it’s from the Fox Searchlight folks, the artsy side of Fox) about a
family working to get their daughter into winning a beauty pageant.
They have to trek across the country in a VW bus, and that is always
supposed to be funny.
The two words that give me a lot of hope for this movie are
simply these: Steve Carell. He has really been coming into his own
in his movie career as of late, and this movie looks to expand on
this, in a fun kind of way.
This movie looks like fun, in an artsy kind of way, so take it
that way and it might work for you, too.
