So, Zorro and Mrs. Zorro (Banderas and Zeta-Jones) are living like
any couple, complete with child, leaving their past behind and Mrs.
Zorro has to keep convincing Mr. Zorro that he can’t play with
swords anymore. But then Mr. Zorro finds out about this sinister
plot and he knows that it is up to him to save the day, but, of
course, the Mrs. isn’t so sure, yet, of course, she joins him in the
end and we now have a sword-wielding team set to save their way of
life. I’m guessing the boy eventually finds out that his Dad is
really Zorro, and low and behold we have a set-up for yet another
sequel, but that’s too early to call right now.
When you do a movie that pretty much doubles its budget, you can
usually get a sequel out of it, but unless this one gets lots of
word of mouth, it’s only hope is it keeps the PG-13 of the original
and convince families to see a movie that they have pretty much
already seen. Good for it that right now it’s only going up again
the drama of “The Weatherman” and the horror flick “Saw II.” I’ll
probably catch it in any case.
