Here's good news for my sister - A movie she will probably love
comes out on her birthday, and that movie is "Mad Money." In
my world that probably means it is a movie I will not like,
and what the hell is Katie Holmes doing making a movie when
she should be home with Tom?
Anyway, the basic premise of the story is that our
heroes, Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah, and Katie Holmes, are
janitors at the Federal Reserve Bank, only they're not
stupid, they need cash, and what better way to get cash than
steal the cash set for destruction. But as much as our trio
isn't stupid, they aren't that smart about laying low in the
land of "I've got a lot of money now, let me spend it on
things that will draw attention to me," so suspicions are
raised and hilarity is supposed to ensue.
A movie buried in the middle of January isn't usually a
good sign for goodness, but the other thing about being a
movie buried in January is there usually isn't that much
else to go and see, so in the middle of winter, who wouldn't
want to see Ted Danson.
