Nicholas Cage plays Roy. He’s a con artist but seems to
have a lot of issues, things like cleanliness, leaving the house, and
not really liking the profession he is in but does it anyway. Sam
Rockwell plays Frank, his sidekick. So as much as Roy’s life is messed
up now, let’s have his daughter (Alison Lohman) show up on his
doorstep. Not knowing what to do, his shrink tends to tell Roy that he
should just be honest with his daughter. Low and behold she seems to
get into dad’s line of work, and now the duo is a trio. But can Roy
lead his daughter into a life of crime or will he come to his senses
and get his daughter to find an honest line of work?
The movie looks kind of cute, but will probably get dragged down
into the dad feeling guilty for bringing his daughter into a life of
crime and then having to change his ways so they can be a normal
family. We’ll see as things get closer, and although I’m not a huge
Nicholas Cage fan, this one does seem to have potential.
