There a way too many things not looking promising for this film,
other than I read that it has some fantastic quality kills. Anyway,
some of the things not looking promising are news stories that this
movie’s release kept getting pushed back. That’s usually not a good
sign. Another thing is that the movie is being released by Dimension
Films, part of Miramax, and going to www.dimensionfilms.com leads you
to the Miramax site, but there aren’t any links to an actual
“Mindhunters” web site. There aren’t many movies put out today without
a website to back them up, and if there is a site, it sure isn’t easy
to find.
The story did look a little intriguing, though, but also had cliché
written all over it. Basically you get a group of young FBI people who
are getting trained to be able to track serial killers. They get sent
to an island for a training mission, and then they start dying. It
seems there is a serial killer in their midst. From the trailer you
would think they would be smart and everyone would stick together, but
like most dumb people, they start separating from each other, low and
behold, to find themselves or others dead.
Hopefully the quality kill aspect will outpace a dumb story, but
it’s not looking like it. We’ll see.
