I could sort of understand the folks in Tinseltown doing a remake of
“The Poseidon Adventure,” I mean, with the technology advances,
well, they can make the movie more realistic I suppose. But, really,
as a fan of “The Omen” trilogy, it’s only because I’m a fan of Julia
Stiles that I’ll even give this movie a chance.
Nothing much is given away in the teaser trailer, just some pudgy,
English youngin’ on a swing-set looking creepy like the original
little dude did in the original movie. In any case, unless something
comes out fantastic about this movie later, it’s a movie that has
already been done in a fabulously creepy way, and doesn’t need to be
redone. I know, I’ll probably go and see it anyway, just to compare,
but this will be one of the first movies where I’m a huge fan of the
original, and will really be able to compare the remake. If anything
it might open a new generation to “The Omen” series, which is creepy
enough.
