Hilary Swank plays a woman named Holly who is sad. She's
sad because her husband, Gerry (Gerard Butler) died, and
like most women who are happily married when their husbands
die, well, she's also having trouble moving on with her
life. But Gerry, being the most creative dude in the world,
wrote a series of letters to be delivered to Holly, at
specific times, if his demise should come.
As hard as it is for Holly to hear and read her favorite
voice from the past, he sets her off on a series of tasks to
get her life back into gear. Part of those tasks have to do
with karaoke and traveling overseas, but with her friends
played by Gina Gershon and Lisa Kudrow, and those letters
from Gerry, Holly starts to learn to live again.
Okay, this movie has chick-flick written all over it, and
dudes, when you make your dudette go and see "Walk Hard: The
Dewey Cox Story," you can probably expect this as her
payback movie. There do seem to be some cute moments, even
for the dudes, but for the most part this movie will just
have your dudette wondering if you know her as well as Gerry
seems to know Holly. Good luck, dudes!
