Thank God for videotape! If people didn't have it we
wouldn't know what happened during the movie
"Cloverfield,"
and now we've got a news crew hanging out with a fire
station crew heading to a fire at an apartment building,
thus giving us "Quarantine." Yup, the news crew and the
first responders end up in a weird place, inhabited by
someone who might be infected with something, and what
better thing than to quarantine the building so the
weirdness doesn't get out. At least we have that videotape
to maybe let us know what actually was the badness in the
apartment building, which, and I'm only guessing, might have
found a way to get outside of the quarantine area,
especially if this movie makes any kind of money.
Look, the movie comes out in mid-October, right before
Halloween, and there isn't a movie person alive who wants to
compete with the "Saw" series, so it's "Let's release our
creepy movies a week or two before" time.
