They can’t seem to make R-rated movies anymore because the kiddies
will buy a ticket for a PG-13 movie and sneak into the R movie anyway,
hence the R movie doesn’t get the box office dough. That’s my theory.
Anyway, one of the next of would-be R rated movies but they had to
trim things so the kiddies buy the tickets is Swimfan. Simply put some
chick moves into town, seduces the great swimmer at school, weasels
her way into his life, his family, his girlfriend, and he begins to
think that she is a stalker and that his is a dead man.
Hot chicks in skimpy clothes coupled with a generic suspense movie
is about all it looks you’re going to get with this one. Sadly I’m out
of town the weekend before this movie opens so I won’t really have an
excuse not to see it. We’ll see.
