A Movie Preview |

Okay, now I’m not up on ancient history, but from my
reading (alright, from the story synopsis on the web site), we get
Paris (he’s the Prince of Troy, played by Orlando Bloom) taking
another dudes woman, in this case the other woman being Helen, the
Queen of Sparta (Diane Kruger), and the dude being King Menelaus
(Brendan Gleeson). The King is pissed so he rounds up his brother,
Agamemnon (Brian Cox), who’s the King of the Myceneans, to round up
the forces, attack Troy, and get Helen back.
It also seems that Agamemnon isn’t really doing this out of loyalty
to his brother, but rather because he needs Troy in order to expand
his empire. The problem is that Troy has pretty much been invincible,
what with its walls and all, so Agamemnon enlists the help of Achilles
(Brad Pitt), supposedly the baddest-ass warrior out there, to attack
Troy.
It’s a big budget movie with Brad Pitt, so you know lots of people
will be checking it out, and it does look grandiose and everything, so
who knows, this one has a lot of potential and lots of buzz is out
there for it. I’ll be there.
