A Movie Preview |

I suppose here’s to hoping that Oliver Stone keeps his word this
time and leaves any hints of politics out of a movie and instead
sticks to the story at hand. The movie this time, “World Trade
Center,” and is slated to tell the story of John McLoughlin, played
by Nicolas Cage, and Will Jimeno, played by Michael Pena. In a quick
nutshell, they are the last two survivors rescued from the rubble of
the World Trade Center attacks. The movie is supposed to be their
story of survival, of those digging through the rubble, and their
families praying that somehow they will be found alive.
There will always be the questioning of how soon is too soon to
make a movie about the attacks on September 11th, but “United 93”
seemed to come off as a respectful look at what happened,
specifically on Flight 93. Oliver Stone can sometimes be way over
the top, and sometimes just incredible at his way to tell a story. I
hope this time he is the latter.
