There was really one reason I had a problem with
“Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” that it seems most of the other
critics didn’t have, and that was I couldn’t suspend my belief in
reality. People were able to almost fly, people were able to do
incredible moves, and yet all of these things were done in the real
world by real people. But in seeing the trailer for “Zu Warriors” it
tells you right away that this world isn’t the Earthly world we all
know and love, this is a world of people and creatures that protect
the life we live on Earth.
Do I really care about the story for this movie? Not now. This time
I get a movie of a mystical place, with mystical people, maybe
interacting with the world I know. Love is in the air, it is screwing
up the balance of things, but people and things are kicking the crap
out of each other in a variety of really cool ways.
I hope this movie is in a theater near me, because, this time, I
think I can suspend my reality, even deal with subtitles, and enjoy a
kick-ass karate-and-other-fighting movie.
