Gwyneth Paltrow as Lady Viola
Alright dudes, you're girlfriend is going to want to see "Shakespeare In Love." Face it, she probably will, and you will be faced with the typical "not another damn chick-flick" thoughts going through your head. And, yea, it mostly is a chick flick, a love story about a fictional way in which William Shakespeare may have come up with "Romeo & Juliet," but, dudes, it does have some funny moments, the story's not that bad, and you get to see Gwyneth Paltrow's breasts.

Alright, the story kinda goes like this. Joseph Fiennes is Will Shakespeare and he's lost his desire to write. This is a bummer, especially for the owners of the theaters counting on his plays to bring in the people. Well, they have an audition for a play that isn't written yet and Lady Viola (Gwyneth) auditions (dressed as a dude because it's a no-no for dudettes to be actors, well actresses, well, in any case, they can't be on stage).
Joseph Fiennes as Will Shakespeare
Shakespeare loves the way he/she speaks poetry, and tries to track him/her down. Eventually Will figures out that he is a she and he is back in love and ready to write. The problem is that Lady Viola is to be wed to Lord Wessex (Colin Firth). But that doesn't stop the two lovebirds, and actually probably inspires Will all the more. Will and Viola do the nasty, the Queen is able to tell, Lord Wessex is pissed, the play almost doesn't go on, and the movie doesn't end with a totally sappy ending.

"Shakespeare in Love" is a decent rental, and I think most dudes might even enjoy it unless they're the type that only like "blow things up" style movies. It's got some comedy, it's got some seriousness, it's got some sex, and Judi Dench as Queen Elizabeth is a pisser. Is it as great as everyone says? Honestly, I didn't think so, at least not that much, but it's well worth the rental.

I'll give "Shakespeare in Love" 3 ½ stars out of 5. It's a good movie, I laughed, and it didn't end with a totally sappy ending.

That's it for this one, I'm The Dude on the Right!! L8R!!
