The Dude's Twitter Updates
    Snippets from our latest stuff...

    It's A Boy Girl Thing
    A DVD Review
... Look, there isn’t anything surprising in "It’s a Boy Girl Thing," but cute moments do abound, especially if you are a younger teen girl. And sure, I’m not a younger teen girl, but I did chuckle at some of the easy jokes thrown out during the movie. ...

    The Andromeda Strain
    A DVD Review
... And sure, I hate to put the "Star Trek" reference in there, but like most TV shows, "The Andromeda Strain" gives you about two hours and thirty minutes of set-up, conflict, theories, and then is able to wrap up the solution for the devastating problem in about fifteen minutes. ...

    The Lather Effect
    A DVD Review
... I have to say that there a few things that just bug the hell out of me about the DVD "The Lather Effect," with one of them being, simply, how in the hell did they clean up the mess left in that house, after a blow-out of a party, in one afternoon, especially being hungover as hell? ...

    Movie-ing, Salespeople-ing, Turtle-ing, Food-ing, but No Twittering (yet).
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... Stu's weekend wasn't very exciting, just catching up on some things around the Gotz house, but he tries to entice me to visit the Apple Store near him for a total "why I should buy an Apple" class, and also temps me for lunch at Ricobene's for a breaded steak dripping with red sauce, mozzarella, and for me, sweet peppers, with of course, their fabulous fries.  Do I cave in?  The podcast might answer those questions. ...

    Swing Vote
    A Movie Review
... wouldn’t we prefer some intellectual in the spotlight, someone who might, now getting a second chance to vote, weigh every issue and see how the President could effect mankind? Hell no! We want Bud; an alcoholic loser who can’t keep his job at an egg farm, with an even more loser of an ex-wife, and she must be more of a loser since Bud is the one in custody of a bright, adorable, looking to create a better America yet still has to wake up her drunk-ass dad to get her to school, daughter, Molly (Madeline Carrol). ...

A Contest, iPhone Talk, and Hints for Beggars.
    A Podcast
... This podcast, though, isn't just about winning things, it's also about my loving my iPhone and "Shazam," how whistlers don't have "America Having Talent," but I do give those of you, looking to be beggers, peddlers, or hoping to base your money-making scam of "My Family Needs Gas", well, a better idea of how to make a few more bucks. ...

    Baseball, A Carnival, and Dogs.
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... But this podcast isn't really about a town that has tons of potential but right now is just a giant speed bump, nope, a lot of this podcast is about baseball, namely seeing a Chicago White Sox game last Monday where my BFF got to meet Stu and Mama Gotz, and then yesterday where she got to meet The Dude on the Left, Trash, Slick, Boner, and Stinky, saw Stu in a slightly different light than when she met him last Monday, and her not being mortified at meeting four, slightly over-served, college buddies of mine. ...

Nakedness, Lottery, Movies, and a Noid.
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... For this weekend wrap-up, though, I tell Stu about my walking around naked on Saturday, thanks to my BFF getting me some sandals to show off my "pedicured" feet, and I also tell Stu about a story missed from the weekend before where my BFF and I won the lottery. ...

    Mamma Mia!
    A Movie Review
... Not that there weren’t the fair share of dudettes in the theater that seemed to love it, but for me, as I stirred in my seat through most of the movie, not until Sam (Pierce Brosnan) started singing did I really laugh, and I don’t think I was supposed to. ...

Technology Sucks, No WGN, iPhone Schematic Requests, and a Cowbell.
    A Podcast
... As lame as this solo podcast probably is, I do reiterate my upcoming love for "Batman: The Dark Knight," and tell of my love for the music of Danny Elfman for when Jack Nicholson played The Joker rather than Heath Ledger, although I have a feeling Mr. Ledger will do a better job, in his own right, and I can't wait.

The other thing about this podcast is simply that, thanks to my iPhone, I now have a cowbell, and what better song to put it to good use than Ram Jam's "Black Betty."  I love my iPhone! ...

Movie Previews Galore, or at Least a Few.
    A "What's New?" Blog
... as I'm looking to get back into the swing of posting, and not feeling totally creative, I realized I had a batch of Movie Previews already written.  So, this evening, well, it was all about getting previews of movies like "Swing Vote," "Bangkok Dangerous," "Pineapple Express," "Henry Poole is Here," "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor," "The House Bunny," and "My Best Friend's Girl," among others, up and integrated into the website for your perusal, or at least to help you to find their official sites. ...

The BFF Meets the Family, Lots of TV Talk, and an iPhone Update.
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... My reasoning for not seeing any new movies was because of a trip to the old country, Lorain, OH, with my BFF, to visit some of the members of my family.  ...  I also tell Stu of my taking some of the family to Applebee's, giving my girlfriend a tour of the old country that she hasn't seen in nearly 20 years, how we went to get some ice cream sundaes (thanks to my observant nature), and played some miniature golf (thanks to my iPhone, which wasn't even updated to my having a lightsaber yet), with both the getting sundaes and playing miniature golf not happening in Lorain :-( ...

The Old Country With my BFF, Back to Normal Programming, Spock Philosophy, and an iPhone Update.
    Our Dailyish Blog
... when I was just trying to do some recon to assess the threat assessment of our group and make sure the coast was clear on the treacherous path from the safety of the craft store to the safety of the dude-mobile. I risk my life for the safety of the group, just like Spock philosophied in "The Wrath of Kahn," that "The needs of the many outweigh," responded by Kirk "The needs of the few," with Spock coming back, "Or the one.," ...

"Hancock," Fireworks, Cars, Church, and More!
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... I also want to know where my Netflix movies disappeared to.  Stu lets me know that he liked the movie "Nancy Drew," and gave some bombshell news about one of our friends.

And what podcast would be complete without talk about Pringles and my realizing, because I'm slow sometimes, that they aren't really potato chips.

And lastly, a shout-out to my Mom to get well soon! ...

    Hancock
    A Movie Review
... You know what burns my butt? - A candle about two feet high. You know what else burns my butt? - When movie people don’t want to pull the trigger and just make a movie rated R... The problem is that now the movie folks will do everything they can to keep the movie rated PG-13 including the "one use of the word ‘fuck’ but we can use ‘asshole’ and ‘shit,’ and even ‘bitch’ to our heart's content rule," only showing the aftermath of the violent mayhem rather than the actual violent mayhem, and leaving Charlize Theron with too many clothes on. ...

Apologies to The WGN&N, Bro-i-l, Sis, and Night Ranger. That Said, Happy 4th of July!
    Our Podcast
... What I won't feel sorry for is you, the reader, if over this 4th of July you blow off an appendage or two because you wanted to test the "firecracker" theory you saw in the movie "Armageddon," decide to "look inside" the launching tube of the firework that didn't go off yet, or don't impress on your kids that the reasons sparklers, well, sparkle, is because they are on fire, and that flaming part on the sparkler rod, well, it can reach about 1800 degrees F ...

RV-ing, Penn & Teller, Movie Talk, Toilet Paper, and More!
    "Stu & The Dude's Weekend Wrap-Up!" Podcast
... I do advise Stu that now might be the time to get Sirius Satellite Radio, and no, not because of the merger with XM, an approval decision that has so far lasted longer than it takes for a baby to be conceived, born, and eating solid food, but because for a couple of weeks they are going to have "ABBA Radio," all ABBA, 24/7, ...

Night Ranger: A Hole In The Sun - 79%
    A CD Review
... and you are looking for new music from a band you always loved, well, you should do your best to discover "Hole In The Sun" because the Night Ranger boys haven’t tried to re-invent themselves, they haven’t tried to "grow up," and they haven’t shifted their message to something like "The world is all wine and roses." Nope, Night Ranger, still, just rocks. ...

    Wall-E
    A Movie Review
... There are times, after seeing a movie, when I really wonder what is wrong with me. Usually it harkens to my being King of "The Land of the Easily Amused," therefore loving a comedy that most everyone else hates.  But, this time, after seeing "Wall-E," for whatever reason, maybe I had things on my mind, maybe it was my time of the month, or maybe the person a few seats from me,... just bugged the living daylights out of me, but, in the realm of Pixar movies, and I seem to be about the only one in movie-review land with this opinion, I really didn't care for "Wall-E" that much ...

    Wanted
    A Movie Review
... the opening scene from the movie snapped me right into "This movie is going to have a ton of convolutedness, so you better just get ready to roll with it." And roll with it I did, loving this movie for the preposterousness it invoked, sidestepping the laws of physics, and enjoying seeing Angelina Jolie’s butt, as well as a fantastic look of Chicago in the movie ...

    Get Smart
    A Movie Review
... This weekend, if you’re looking for a nice matinee to catch, and don’t want to be bothered with lots of little kids (seeing "Wall-E"), or tons of gratuitous violence ("Wanted" has it,) a nice, enjoyable movie in that case might be "Get Smart." It’s some good fun. ...

    The Swell Season
    A Concert Review
... Presidential candidate possibly attending aside, in his introduction for "Lay Me Down," Glen reflected on his being a teenager, wanting to be a singer, being fascinated with "Freaks & Geeks," and a sweet story how he was trying to impress a girl, took her to the cemetery, and asked "Would you be buried beside me?" ...

A Special Guest Podcaster - The WGN, Joins for TV, Comedian, Gun, and Socially Inept Talk!
    Our Podcast
... For this podcast I introduce my nephew to the magic of "America's Got Talent," and am happy to hear that the boy, who actually isn't a boy anymore, loves George Carlin, even having some of Mr. Carlin's material on his iPod.  My nephew is pretty cool, isn't he, and he reads, too! ...
