Did you ever see one of those "Ernest
Movies"? You know like "Ernest Goes to Jail" and
such? Ok... How about the movie "Clueless"? Well,
"Legally Blonde" is kind of like "Clueless goes to
Law School."
After making what I thought was a brilliant splash in the movie
"Election", Reese Witherspoon is back in the highly
predictable and hugely disappointing movie "Legally
Blonde." I don't want to have to waste any more time in my life
with this movie so I will VERY BRIEFLY explain it to you.
Reese plays Elle Woods who is a beauty school bimbo with brains.
When her arrogant ass of a boyfriend dumps her, well, she sets out
to win him back. To do this she works real hard and gets into
Harvard Law School. There she is treated like an air-head princess,
but in the end court room scene (which made the ridiculous "Big
Daddy" courtroom scene look like a brilliant episode of
"Perry Mason") she shows everyone that blonde does not
equal stupid. Yippee!
Mom always said "If you don't have anything nice to say,
then don't say anything at all." So with that in mind I can
tell you that I did manage to sit through and endure this entire
movie. I don't doubt that this movie will do well for a couple of
weeks, hitting it big with the "teeny-bopper" crowd, but
there is no reason mom and dad should have to stick around and waste
good money on seeing the flick. Just drop off the kiddies and head
to the mall to kill some time instead. I give "Legally
Blonde" 1 1/2 stars out of 5 stars
I'm Stu Gotz. It's not a great movie. 'Nuff said.
