Not to waste my time or yours on this band, Travis sucked. Plain
and simple. They seemed to be the one band that Grover always sung
about on Sesame Street, "Which one of these things is not like
the other, Which one of these things just doesn't belong…".
The Dude on the Right:
Hey, Big Cooter, thanks for the words of wisdom? True, I only
had three songs to decide, but I too decided that I didn't like
Travis. Sure, they didn't fit in with most of the rest of the bands
at J2K, but for three songs I can't figure out what all of the fuss
is about. They sound good, and to be fair I've have to give them a
better listen in the future, but much like a few years ago when
everyone proclaimed electronica the wave of the future, and much
like now when everyone is proclaiming a band like Travis the wave of
the future, I just don't see it. They didn't use the stage they were
given, they might be better in a venue of their fans, but they
didn't make a fan out of me. I will withhold final judgment on the
band as a whole when I get some time to listen to them more, but for
now I'm not all that impressed. Sorry.
